How to Make a Tile Mosaic: Using Edge Pieces and Breaking Stuff

May 18 @ 12:30 pm 3:00 pm CDT

Let’s grout something more complicated than subway tile

You took the first tile class (Tile Extravaganza) and learned the basics of mortar and grout. Now, we get to be more creative and get a handle on edge pieces, cutting, and design.

In this intermediate class, you’ll create a framed tile mosaic. You’ll have a lot of tile colors and styles to choose from and we’ll experiment with different edge options: tile, borders, and other ideas like a wooden frame.

You don’t have to take the first tile class before this, but it really helps. You’ll leave with your mural, so think about what design you want and we’ll bring it to life together!

You will learn:

  • The tools you need to do the best job
  • How to cut and make mosaic pieces
  • How to grout and use grouting tools
  • How to use and cut different edge options
  • All about safety

Supplies Needed:

All supplies for the class will be provided for you, including safety gear.
