Woodworking: Build a Box with a Lid
November 12 @ 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm CST

Make a basic box and you’ll have gifts for everyone!
Got a lot of stuff lying around? Put it in a box! Learning how to make a box with a hinged lid opens up your woodworking life to so many new options and ideas.
Let’s make a basic wooden box body and attach a lid to it using hinges. We’ll have a bunch of different locksets to choose from too. Who knows? You might want to install lockets on other things in your house too!
We’ll show you how to join the pieces together, what materials to use, and tools to have on hand.
If you haven’t taken Woodworking 2: Joinery, that would be a good idea. We’ll use some of those skills in this class.
You will learn:
- Box materials: MDF, wood, etc.
- Tools and safety
- Nail guns and adhesives
- Making a lid with hinges
- Lockets and other closures
- How to use a nail gun
