Vinyl Flooring: Materials, Installation, & Subfloors

Who knew vinyl flooring installation could be so sexy?
We’ve all looked at a floor and wished it could be different. It can! In this class, learn how to fix up your floors to keep them looking great with less maintenance. You will practice laying down vinyl flooring, prepping the floor, and troubleshooting some common mistakes when installing.
You’ll learn what goes on top of vinyl flooring and when in the process to plan for that (hello, cabinets and baseboard! I’m looking at you!!). It’s not hard, and you’ll want to refinish everything when you learn how to do it. Additionally, we’ll talk about the best tools to use and have on hand, as well as which are better to rent vs. own if you want to keep doing projects like this.
You will learn:
- Different vinyl flooring types, wears, patterns
- How to measure and cut complicated angles and turns
- Subflooring considerations
- Supplies and tools you should own if you want to DIY
- Care and maintenance
Supplies needed:
All supplies for the class will be provided for you, including safety gear. If you have a sample of your flooring, bring it. And if you have a favorite utility knife, bring it too so we can compare.
